Children First, Inc., the exclusive Head Start and Early Head Start provider for Sarasota County dedicated their playground to the Suncoast Foundation and Suncoast Charities for Children on Thursday, February 15. The charities recently helped fund a needed playground re-surfacing project that provides more safe outdoor space for children to play and learn. With some of those children playing nearby, Children First’s V.P. of Philanthropy, Jessica Rogers, and Vice Chair of the Board, Tom Cail, recognized the organizations for their support of Children First. The non-profit organization that provides education, care, nutritious meals, and family support services to more than 700 children annually at 13 sites, leases a large portion of the building at 800 Gulf Coast Boulevard from the Suncoast Foundation for just $1 per year thanks to the fundraising efforts of the Suncoast Foundation and Suncoast Charities for Children. The Venice Area Chamber of Commerce and several of its members were also on hand to show their support with an official ribbon cutting ceremony.
