The Junkluggers of Sarasota held a grand opening and ribbon cutting at their new store called “Remix Market” located at 5859 Murdock Avenue in Sarasota. During the grand opening, it was announced that Suncoast Charities for Children has been selected as their charity partner to receive 10% of all sales.
As a local business, The Junkluggers of Sarasota is proud to say that they are doing something to make the world more sustainable, by keeping furniture and junk out of landfills. Their mission is to donate (or recycle) as many items as possible because it is great for the environment and benefits a local charity.
Local franchise owner of The Junkluggers of Sarasota, Tim Vasiloff, stated: “Our partnership with Suncoast Charities for Children began in 2018, and we are very excited to include this new store to show our continued commitment and support towards a local charity, such as Suncoast Charities for Children, who is doing so much good work in our local community.”
Executive Director of Suncoast Charities for Children, Lucy Nicandri, stated: “Partnerships with local companies, such as The Junkluggers of Sarasota not only help with our fundraising efforts but also help us expand awareness in the community surrounding our mission to help support children, teens, and adults with special needs. We are extremely grateful for their continued support.” Suncoast Charities for Children provides funding to several local non-profit agencies in support of children, teens, and adults with special needs. These agencies include Children First, The Florida Center for Early Childhood, The Haven, Venice Challenger Baseball, Loveland Center, Special Olympics in Sarasota, and the Suncoast Foundation.
